Looking for a bucket list adventure in Northern BC? Grab 5 of your closest friends and take a float plane out to Nuk Tessli Backcountry Lodge.
A family run wilderness experience, Nuk Tessli is situated on beautiful Whitton Lake in the Chilcotin coastal mountains. They supply you with all your meals and have experienced guides on hand to help you create your ultimate getaway in the backcountry. We booked three full days there and packed all we needed to explore the lakes and surrounding mountain ranges.

We started our day with an early trip out to Nimpo Lake to catch our plane with Tweedsmuir Air. The plane ride was short but the views just kept getting better from the sky. After a few minutes, we were landing on Whitton Lake and floating up to our home for the weekend. We got settled in and were ready to take in the lake views for our first day.
With breathtaking peaks around every corner, we were beyond excited to spend our second day hiking into some incredible remote mountains. We chose the North Pass Loop, full of wildflower blooms and two perfectly chilled alpine lakes where we ate our lunches and sipped on a celebratory Strait and Narrow.

While booking the lodge, we chose to stay in Roberta’s Cabin so that we got the perfect sunset views each night. And on our last morning, we woke up at the crack of dawn and paddled out to the middle of the lake to take in the pink hues of sunrise.
There are endless opportunities for adventure and some of the best food I have ever had in the backcountry. Nuk Tessli checked all the boxes and we can’t wait to plan another trip out there again!
