As I gaze at the dark blue water, the anticipation and excitement builds. I curl my toes over the edge of the dock, hesitating to dive in. In my head, I am trying to convince myself not to jump, but my body is faster.
From here, everything happens very quick. In a matter of seconds, I am fully immersed in the salty sea. Cold rushes through my veins as I try to catch my breath. It is sharp and short and I can feel every cell in my body go wild. I feel happy, right here, right now.

Ocean dips have become a ritual for me over the past few months. I had read a lot about the benefits of cold water plunges and wanted to give them a shot. Pushing myself out of my comfort zone has always been something exciting for me and I mostly find myself pursuing that in the mountains.

There is a lot going on in the world right now and it can be challenging to find clarity amongst the chaos. I found that my mood increases drastically after an ocean dip, even on days when I’m hesitant to go in. Not only is it an reset at the end of a hectic day, but it is an accomplishment to get out of that comfort zone and to do something that isn’t easy!
Is there something you’ve been wanting to do that’s out of your comfort zone?
With love, a handful of adrenaline and a big ole virtual hug,
– Selena
